"...Powerful alternarock with an intensity and passion rare among musicians so technically accomplished... combining thoughtful lyrics with the thrust of an uncompromised electric attack...the forceful clarity and confident strength of Bancroft's voice rise above the most aggressive overdriven guitars - then drops to a near whisper." -- Gregory Nicoll, Creative Loafing, Atlanta

Lift is Molly Bancroft (vocals, guitar), Simone Simonton (drums), Julie Clark (bass). With extremely varied backgrounds, their genuine passion for the music is the same. Lift's commitment to themselves, the music, and
their audience is born out of a desire to empower people to think, find meaning, and take responsibility as individuals.

Accomplished. With two critically acclaimed albums (Lifelike,1997 Daemon Records, and Stellar,1996 Lyric Moon Records) and a 7-inch ("Walk Away/Birds Fly Free," 1992 Tim Kerr Records) to their credit as well as having toured nationally and shared the stages with artists such as Guadalcanal Diary, Wild Colonials and Marvelous 3 - Lift has established a loyal and expanding following.

Distinctions. Winner of the 1997 Diskmakers SE Independent Music World Series. Wrote and recorded several international Coca-Cola radio ad spots. Featured on WNNX (99X, Atlanta) Locals Only compilation CD. Major contributor to the soundtrack of the 1996 CLIO Awards Interactive CD-ROM.
